'Sign Up' exhibition preview
Thursday 15th January
17:00 - 21:00An exhibition of photographic works exploring civic censorship and the silencing of artists.
Hot Potato’s exhibition, Sign Up, is a photographic examination of the petition as a political tool. It uses collaboration to respond to the increased threat of civic censorship and silencing of artists who use their platform to speak out.
Founded by Naoise O’Keeffe, Hot Potato began in Ireland in 2018. By inviting the photography community to 'sign up', Hot Potato addresses increased censorship and media bias against Palestine, as well as its impact on the arts. -

Dog Draw
Sunday 18th January
14:30 - 16:30Dog Life Drawing with artist Cai Burton.
Join this art class with a difference and get to know your fluffy models with a tail who just love scratches, pets and treats. Each class will feature multiple dogs of all shapes and sizes. Try to keep up with the dogs movements and capture a variety of sketches, or spend longer on timed exercises led by artist Cai Burton.
Classes are fun and relaxed, with the bar open for refreshments. -

United Models Life Drawing
Tuesday 20th January
19:00 - 21:00Relaxed, untutored United Models Life Drawing sessions - every Tuesday. All welcome; regulars, newbies and everyone in between.
Always two models posing, with poses ranging from 30 seconds to 20 minutes.
There will be a break, to share your drawings and pop to the bar.
Basic drawing materials are available. Bring your own paper/sketchbook, if you can. -

Super Nature: A Gathering
Saturday 24th January
14:00 - 22:00SUPER NATURE launches an all-day, music-led gathering. Natural and supernatural sounds drifting through dub, jazz, chuggers, house, and squelchy oddball selections.
Free entry before 18:00, with Disk Frisk selling records, Rosti Rebels food pop-up, and relaxed, multi-generational energy by day, easing into deeper, dance-leaning sounds as night falls. -

Each month we are inviting a different selection of performance artists to explore new or old work in an intimate space, and offer the opportunity to engage with constructive feedback and discussion on each other’s craft.

Expect mixed gauge, multi-projection, performance, mutable screens, improvisation with light, live sound, + discussion with multi-screen installation artist Louisa Fairclough (BEEF) and collective-iz. -

Popon, PanOrama, Lucia Sellars & Annie Gardiner
Saturday 7th March
19:00 - 23:00Popon is a sound artist, whose creative path has taken her from raw beginnings as a vocalist to ever more exploratory sonic terrain. Her performances combine voice, small acoustic instruments, found objects and electronics to sculpt dense and atmospheric worlds of sound.
PanOrama is an audio visual work created by Dali de Saint Paul, Lia Mazzari and Kathy Hinde to celebrate Daphne Oram’s 100th year. Blending improvisation, synthesis, cello, electronics and film, they aim to bridge past and present, guided by experimental techniques.
Annie Gardiner is a musical adventurer. a listener and maker of many styles, interested in sound as inspiration, sculpture and texture, spontaneous improvisation, and composing from improvisation.
Lucia Sellars plays with text, art and moving images and will provide accompanying feminist readings to the evening. She is a quiet observer and a self taught artist. -

Bristol New Music
22 - 26 April
BNM returns in late April for five nights and days of rolling concerts, performances, audiovisual works and installations in exhibition spaces, venues, concert halls and unusual locations around the city, traversing the outer realms of contemporary music, sound and visual arts.

BNM concerts and events will take place at across multiple venues. The shows do not overlap so a pass will allow you to see all the performances.
